Day 23

TIP OF THE DAY: Invest in a well stocked spice rack. Spices add flavor to food without adding calories :)

Nothing very interesting happened today. I did decide to not workout on the weekends and just enjoy my husband. So I will just be working out on the weekdays.

Sorry, there is just not much to say. These days happen every now and then :)

Menu:

BREAKFAST:
1 Applewood Beacon, Egg, and Cheese Lean Pocket-6 points
1 cup of skim milk-2 points

LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Tuna Casserole-5 points

SNACK:
1 Weight Watchers Apple A La Mode Yogurt-1 point
16 Wheat thins-2 points

DINNER:
1/2 of a shrimp bowl with garlic butter-2.5 points (it was not that good, that's why I ate half of it)
1 Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Kiev-7 points
1 bowl of Cinnamon Oatmeal-3 points
1 cup of flavored water-0 points

DESSERT:
1 Fruit Popsicle-1 point
1 cup Grapes-1 point

Total points: 30.5 out of 31 points for the day. There is no way to eat 0.5 points without going over now. But I am happy that I have eaten all of my points the last 2 days!! :)

I also drank 7 cups of water today NOT including the flavored water. :)

Day 22

TIP OF THE DAY: Mix up your activity to keep it fresh and interesting.

Today started off great with my weight loss :) When I got home Scott made some Tilapia and rice for lunch. I know what some of you are thinking, BECKY ATE FISH?!?!? A diet is not just for NOW it is a life style change. So I need to broaden my horizons and try new foods. What's the worst that can happen, I don't like it? Scott's Lemon and Garlic Tilapoia was really good. Scott you get two thumbs up on this one :)

I had wanted to workout today but snuggling up with my husband all day watching movies and catching up on our T.V. series, sounded much better to me. Anyway my workout goal for this week is to workout at lest 3 times.

As you will see I did eat 2 slices of pizza. There was more left over but I stopped at 2 due to points. As it was a bummy day, we put in a deli pizza from Dominick's. Every once in a while you just need one of these days :)

What I ate:

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Lemon and Garlic Tilapia-3 points
1 cup Garlic Rice-5 points
1 glass of Flavored Water-0 points

SNACK:
24 Pretzel Sticks-1 point
16 Wheat Thins-2 points
1 cup Grapes-1 point

DINNER:
2 slices of Pepperoni Pizza-18 points (WOW, but YUM)
2 glasses of flavored water-0 points

DESSERT:
1 Cup Grapes-1 point

Total points 31 out of 31 points for the day. I used all of my points and did not go over, even after eating pizza!! :)

I drank 7 cups of water today NOT including the 3 glasses of flavored water.

Day 21

TIP OF THE DAY: Be sure to hydrate throughout the day. It takes a couple of hours for your body to absorb the water, so you can’t just drink right before exercise. Make it a habit to drink water regularly throughout the day.

Have you ever worked out so much that you physically made yourself sick? Well that happened to me today. As I said yesterday, I was disappointed in myself for not working out so I wanted to work out harder today to compensate for the missed day. Wow did that backfire on me. I did the Biggest Loser Workout DVD today and I would normally do the modifications for beginners. But of course my mindset was I had to work harder, so I did ALL of the advanced moves, they may not have been exactly correct, but I just kept going. After the workout I felt so lightheaded and nauseated that I went and took a nap for a few hours.

I did not do my Yoga today as I have planed but I figured after doing this intense workout, I could do the Yoga tomorrow :)

Tomorrow is my weigh in at 11:00a so I will post and let you all know how I did when I get home.

So here is what I ate for the day;

BREAKFAST:
1/4 cup egg beaters-1 point
3 baby tomatoes-0 points
Weight Watchers Cheese-1 point
Hot sauce-0 points
1 cup Skim Milk-2 points

SNACK:
48 Pretzel sticks-2 points

WORKOUT:
The Biggest Loser DVD Workout- gained 3 points

LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Broccoli and Cheddar roasted potatoes-5 points
1 cup of flavored water-0 points

DINNER:
1 chicken breast-3 points
1 pita-2 point
1/8 cup of fat free black refried beans-1 point
1/2 Tbs. Sour Cream-1 point
1/6 cup of Weight Watchers Cheese-1 point
1 cup of French Onion Soup-5 points

DESSERT:
1 grapefruit-2 points
1 cup of grapes-1 point

Total Points: 27 out of 31 points for the day. With the workout I gained 3 points so the TRUE total is 24 out of 31 points. I still have 7 points left over....and its 12:30 in the morning so I won't be eating any more. Oh well.

Today I did drink my 6 glasses of water. NOT including the flavored water.

Day 20

TIP OF THE DAY: (here is one that I should do.) Brushing your teeth after supper will help you make dinner the last meal of the day.

Where did my day go?! I really wanted to workout today and I had no time. I went to the stupid Social Security office twice and waited about 45 minutes both times, just to have them tell me twice that I had the wrong documents. AHHH! By the time I got home it was 4:00 and at 4:15 I left to meet Scott at his parents house. I am so disappointed in myself for not working out. So tomorrow my plan is in the morning to do the Biggest Loser workout and then in the afternoon I want to do my Yoga.


So since it was another boring day, here is what I ate;

BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers Breakfast Quesadilla-4 points
1 cup of skim milk-2 points
1 Tbs Salsa-0 points

LUNCH:
1/2 of a Weight Watchers Santa Fe Style Rice and Beans-3 points
1 pita-2 points

2 Tbs. Fat Free Strawberry Cream Cheese-1 point

DINNER:
1 cup Whole Grain Pasta-4 points

1 glass of flavored water-0 points

DESSERT:
1 Weight Watchers Peanut Butter Sundae-3 points

Total points: 31 out of 31 points for the day!!! I ATE ALL MY POINTS!!! WOO HOO!!

I also drank 7 glasses of water NOT Including the flavored water!!

Now if I just worked out it would have been the perfect day!!

Day 19

TIP OF THE DAY: Plan your meals in advance. This gives you structure, which helps guard against unplanned eating.

Today I worked out for 30 minutes. I did the Walk Away the Pounds DVD. It was equivalent to a 2 mile brisk walk. I loved doing it but with my stuffy nose I did have to stop a few times to blow my nose but I kept my feet moving :)

With doing the workout I gained 2 points. But I still did not eat my points. My cousin emailed me and said that not eating all of my points is just as bad for you as over eating! I even ate breakfast. How can I get my points in, without having to eat a lot after dinner. During the day I am just not hungry and after dinner I'm not either I just know I have to eat up my points. Now I am sure that it is bad to eat a good part of your points at night and then and hour or so go lay down in bed. I don't fall asleep until about 12:30ish but I am laying in bed writing my blog and then reading/watching T.V until then. Any Advice??

On to how I did;

BREAKFAST:
1 cup skim milk-2 points

LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Chicken Oriental-4 points

Total points: 31 out of 31 points for the day. With the workout I gained 2 points so the TRUE total is 29 out of 31 points.

I also drank 7 glasses of water!!! Woo HOO!! Scott told me today that I am going through the toilet paper like a mad women! HAHA what can I do, I am drinking more water so it is flushing out my system. Oh well he will just have to deal. HAHA He will be happier with the end results. :)

Tomorrow my goal is to do the Biggest Loser DVD. Well have a good Thursday!! :)

Day 18

TIP OF THE DAY: Changing the way you eat means changing the way you think about food. Food does not have power over you. You have power over it!

I did not meet my goal today of working out. I woke up with a stuffy nose and a sore throat. So I just relaxed around the house with a klenex box for most of the day. At about 3 I decided to go to the library to check out some weight loss stuff. I got a Weight Watchers book titled Weight Loss That Lasts, Break Through the 10 Big Diet Myths. I also got 3 workout DVDs. They are Walk off the pounds, The Biggest Loser workout dvd, and yoga for dummies. I have always wanted to try yoga so why not one for dummies?! :)

So Like I said I did nothing today so lets take a look at what I ate;

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
Veggie soup-2 points
Salad with 2 Tbs dressing-2 points
1 glass of flavored water-0 points

SNACK:
1 Cheesy Garlic bread roll-3 points

DINNER:
1 Chicken breast-3 points
1/2 cup of stuffing-3 points
1/4 cup cottage cheese-1.5 points
1 Tbs Thousand Island Dressing-1.5 points
1 glass of flavored water-0 points

SNACK:
2 cups popcorn puffs-2 points
1 1/2 cups honey combs cereal with 1 cup skim milk-4 points

DESSERT:
1 cup Chocolate Ice Cream (Just because I needed to get my points in)-7 points

Total points: 29 out of 31 points for the day.

I drank 5 glasses of water NOT counting the flavored water. I am working on my last glass of water now.

My goal/hope for tomorrow, if I wake up and can breath, is to do the Walk Away the Pounds DVD. Well have a good Wednesday!!

Day 17

TIP OF THE DAY: If it grows out of the ground or you can pick it off a tree, chances are that it's good for you.

My day started at 4:30 in the morning. My body was not used to it at all. I had breakfast with my uncle today and the lady in the hospital cafeteria was great. I asked her if she had any egg substitute and she did and see even let me look at the bottle it came in so I could figure out the points. I felt kind of bad asking, like I was bugging her but like I said she was great about it.

When I got home I ate lunch and took a nap from 2 to 6pm. I only slept about 4 hours last night worried about my dad's procedure. But all is well :)

Sorry that I don't have anything fun or exciting going on today but here is what I ate;

BREAKFAST:
1/2 cup of egg substitute with hot sauce-1 point
1 slice bacon-1 point
12 oz of Cranberry juice-4 points (I should have checked the points before I bought it but I assumed it would have been lower then that, but as you all know I was having a hard time getting to my points everyday so this helped!)

LUNCH:
1 small salad with dressing and croutons-2 points
6 inch sub from yesterday-11 points
1 glass flavored water-0 points

DINNER: Subway (not up to cooking tonight)
1 foot long veggie delight-9 points
1 flavored glass of water-0 points

DESSERT:
5 of Scott's backed Peanut Butter M&M's-2 points
1 fruit Popsicle-1 point

Total points: 31 out of 31 points for the day. I GOT ALL MY POINTS IN!! :)

I got in 6 glasses of water today NOT including the 2 glasses of flavored water.

My goal for tomorrow is to workout. HAVE A GOOD TUESDAY!!

Day 16

TIP OF THE DAY: Lemons are a great way to flavor meals and to get in some vitamin C.

Today I was just not feeling it. I woke up with a headache so I was just bumming around the house. I kind of stuck to the program but I still have not eaten all of my points. I did talk to my Weight Watchers leader and she said that if I can't get in my points I should start eating foods with higher points. EX: have some regular ice cream instead of the Weight Watchers ice cream. It is very important to get in all of my points she said. So hopefully tomorrow I will.

For dinner today we went to Subway. I looked in my dining out companion and I decided to get the Cheese steak sub. When I ordered it they gave me the Philly cheese steak foot long sub. At this point there was nothing that I could do and I still had 27 points so I figured I'll go with it and look up the points at home. For 6 inches it was 11 points and for the whole foot long it was 23 points. So I only ate half of it and saved the other half for tomorrow.

Today Scott decided to try something new and he bought a bag of peanut butter M&M's and put them in the oven for about 10 min. WOW they were good! I only had 5 of them and he had the rest. Next time when he gets creative I hope its with something healthy. :)

Here's what I did;

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Smart one (forgot the name)-4 points

SNACK:
22 pretzels-1 point

DINNER: Subway;
1 6inch Philly Cheese Steak Sub-11 points

SNACK:
5 of Scott's peanut butter M&M creations-2 points

DESSERT:
1/2 cup Chocolate ice cream-3 points
2 hand fulls of Pumpkin Seeds-2 points
1 cup 2% milk (did not have skim)-3 points
2 Tbs chocolate syrup-2 points

Total points: 28 out of 31 points for the day.

My water intake was not good at 5 cups. I swear tomorrow will be better!! I will get to my 6.

I have a very busy day tomorrow starting at 4:30am so I will try my best. HAVE A GOOD MONDAY!!

QUESTION FOR ALL...

I was wondering if anyone had any exercise equipment that they are not using and need the room in your house. or DVD's, mats, anything that you think may help in my weight loss process. It would be a big help because we don't have the money to go out and get a gym membership or equipment. I know that there are some gyms are $20 a month but right now we just can't afford it. So anything that you have and want to get rid of or let us use for a while PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know and I could come and get it.

Day 15- Saturday 2/20

TIP OF THE DAY: Always warm up for 5 minutes with light cardio then do your resistance training. Follow your routine by stretching. Don't stretch before you are warmed up because you could injure yourself that way.

Yesterday was my first book club meeting and since I was not sure what was going to be serving, I saved my points. I know that I probably should have eaten something before I went but I was running around right before I left with going to Weight Watchers, making Peanut Butter Brownies, and getting ready, I had no time to eat. But I am glad that at the meeting they had all Weight Watcher friendly foods! (Thank you Aunt Myra!) Although I did have a VERY small piece of my brownie at the book club. When I say small, it was the size of my index finger with the thickness of two fingers. I counted that as 4 points just to be on the safe side.

After book club Scott and I went over to a friends house and they had pizza. AHH. the night before I was trying so hard not to eat any pizza and now here it is right in front of me again. (what is it with when someone goes on a diet, that's when everyone starts ordering all the good stuff?! Or is it that now I am more aware of what I'm eating?) But I did REALLY good and only had one small piece.

So here is how I did yesterday:

BREAKFAST/LUNCH: At Book Club;
3 crackers-guessing at 3 points
salsa-0 points
a few Veggies-0 points
1 glass of wine-2 points
Salad with dressing-1 point
1 slice bread-1 points

I only drank 5 glasses of water yesterday. I need to kick it up a notch for today.

Weigh In #2

Sorry that I did not get this up as soon as I got home. I had to make some brownies for my book club and then get ready to go. But I do have some good news...

I LOST 1.2 for a total of 4.6 pounds.

At fist I was disapointed becuae I REALLY wanted to loose a total of 5 pounds by this week. But after talking to my friends and cusions, they said at least it was a loss. So what if you did not get to the 5 pounds this week you probably will next week. Thats true...I hope :) but that is my goal for next week, to have a total weight loss of 5 pounds!

My nightly blog may be up tonight OR it will be up tomorrow after I get up because we are going out tonight. HAVE A GOOD ONE ALL!!!

Day 14-Friday 2/19

TIP OF THE DAY: When you are on a walk if you squeeze your butt muscles you will then be toning your butt at the same time :)

So I am REALLY dreading my weigh in tomorrow. I feel so bloated and it's that time of the month for me. (sorry to those that this is to much info) But I do have a question about that. Since it is that time for me, no matter what I will end up gaining, right?

Today I was so proud that I was able to fit in 25 minutes of a cardio/butt workout DVD. So I gained 2 points doing that. WOO HOO!!

When Scott got home we went to his works basketball game and during the half time they had their cheerleaders and dance team perform. As I was watching them I remembered being as thin as those girls and being on the cheerleading squad and doing all of those moves. Now just watching them makes me tired, and I don't want that. I want to think that if I had the opportunity to be out there I would be able to jump right back into it. And not have all of the extra flab flow me AFTER a move is done.

My eating today could have been better but after the game we went out. I did look on the Wight Watchers web site and it said that 1 bottle of select 55 is only one point and it's not that bad!

OK so here is my day in a nut shell.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers smart one (forgot to wright down the name)-4 points
1 salad with 2 Tbs. dressing, Weight Watchers Cheese and 7 croutons-4 points

SNACK:
Sunflower seeds-1 point

WORKOUT:
25 minutes of a cardio/butt workout DVD-gained 2 points! :)

DINNER:
1 6 inch oven roasted sub from Subway-7 points
1 bag of baked Sour Cream and Onion chips-3 points
1 Diet pop-0 points

OUT AFTER THE GAME:
7 French fries (I could not resist them right in front of me but I did stop after 7) not sure on the points but I am guessing high at-6 points

2 slices of cheese quesadilla-guessing at 6 points
2 Select 55-2 points

I drank 6 glasses of water today!!

Total points: 33 points out of 31 but I gained 2 points with the workout which brings me to 31 out of 31 points!!! I MADE MY POINTS!!!!!

Well tomorrow is weigh in and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I did well. When I come home I will post how I did before my normal blog at night. Have a good Saturday!!

Day 13

TIP OF THE DAY: Order an appetizer as your entree when dinning out to keep portions under control.

Today was very uneventful. You know how some days your not really that hungry and others no matter what you eat you just don't feel satisfied?! Well, today for me during the day I was just not that hungry.

For dinner I went on the Weight Watchers web site and got a recipe for a bean and veggie burrito. I had 1 small one and we then decided to go get something since this dinner was a flop! So I was kind of glad that I did not eat that much during the day and still had a lot of points left over but I was starting to get hungry!! So I got out my Weight Watchers dinning out companion, and looked through the whole thing and then we finally decided on McDonald's (I know there may have been better choices but this was close to home, cheap, and fast.) And at this point I still had 18 points left.

So let's see how I did:

BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers Blue Berry Muffin-3 points

LUNCH:
1/2 of a Weight Watchers 3 Cheese Ziti Marinara-3 points (I say half because I got up to talk on the phone and Dexter started to eat it, but I was pretty much done with it any way)

SNACK:
about 25 pretzel sticks-1 point

DINNER: Take 1
1 small bean and veggie burrito-6 points

DINNER: Take 2 (at McDonald's)
10 piece chicken nuggets-10 points
2 honey packets-2 points
1 diet pop-0 points

DESSERT:
1 small McDonald's ice cream cone in a cup without the cone-3 points

SNACK:
1 small hand full of sunflower seeds-1 point

Total Points: 29 out of 31

As for my water I drank 7 glasses!!! :)

Day 12

TIP OF THE DAY: Here is a no brainier but with the cold weather we never do it, Park farther away.

I did not workout today but I did gain 1 activity point. As I was doing the laundry I thought that this should be a workout all on its own. with the consent bending up and down and up and down. So I thought that I would look on the Weight Watchers online program and it said that doing laundry for 10 minutes gives you 1 activity point. Woo Hoo!! Well as I was in my cleaning mode, since I already cleaned the kitchen this morning, I decided to clean the refrigerator. and then that lead to cleaning the kitchen again! I finished right around the time that Scott came home and he said that he wants dinner, soooo, there I was AGAIN in my kitchen making a mess of it and cleaning it again!!! so I think I totally deserve that 1 extra point!!

As you will see I did give in but not on the doughnut, on the girl scout cookies :) How can I not?!

BREAKFAST:
1 english muffin-2 points
1/4 cup egg beaters-1 point
1 slice bacon-1 point
1 tsp. Salsa-0 points
1/4 Weight Watchers cheese-0.5 points

WORKOUT:

Day 11

TIP OF THE DAY: Avoid unhealthy snacking. Here's a list of healthy snacks that are low in fat content, but still high in satisfaction (and I'm not talking about carrots and celery!):

~Pretzels (low sodium)
~Graham crackers
~Low fat crackers - (watch the salt content)
~Low fat cookies
~Popcorn without butter (try butter flavored salt)
~Cup of fruit with non-fat cool whip on top or a spoonful of honey.
~Stick of sugar-free chewing gum
~Licorice
~Cup of raw veggies with non-fat salad dressing for dip

I was so proud of myself today. I woke up at about 8:30am and went to the mall and did 2 laps!! That is about 1 mile.

last month we ordered girl scout cookies and they came in today. Just great, they came in just a week after I start my diet!! I figured out the points and for 2 dose dos they are 3 points, and for 2 samoas they are 4 points. This is going to be hard to have my favorate cookies in the house and not get them very often! So you may see them on my menu in the near future...

Today Scott and I wanted that wonderful doughnut that I was talking about the other day. I was debating back and forth about getting it because although I REALLY want it I know how bad it is for me. Little fact, a doughnut takes 3 to 4 days to digest in your body! WOW and EWW!!! So we were in the car on the way to the store and we were talking about how bad it is for us and why do all the things that taste good are always so bad for you? That, I will never know! So then I finally said, "NO, I am not getting that doughnut, but we can still go for you hun and I'll just have to wait in the car because it will be to tempting...again" And Scott, being wonderful said,"No I don't want to go and eat the doughnut in front of you, so lets just go home!" After telling him that I really did not mind going so he can get his doughnut, I turned the car around and heading back home!! Now here is a question for everyone, although the doughnut is only 5 points and I have those points, does anyone have any suggestions for eliminating this"craving?"

Oh yesterday I did not get anymore water in becuase after I posted the blog I fell asleep :)

Now I have A LOT of points left over tonight and I have no idea what to do! HELP!?

BREAKFAST:

1 cup whole wheat pasta-4 points

Day 10

TIP OF THE DAY: Think about what you can ADD to your diet, not what you should take away.

Today I e-mailed my aunt to see how her weekend went and she asked what I did for Valentines Day. So I told her we went to Outback and I had shrimp. She was shocked because I normally don’t eat shrimp. I also told her that I knew that if I wanted this diet to work I had to change what I ate. And she replied with, “If this is going to work for you, you need to stick to it. The end results will be worth it. No cheating and making up excuses.” WOW that is so true. You all know that I start a diet and never follow through. I will always come up with one reason or another to stop. But I think this time having the blog is REALLY going to help. I know that I have been making better choices because I don’t want to put that bad choice on here for all of you to see. For example we went to 7-11 and I really wanted a doughnut, and with still having 16 points left over and it being only 5 points I could “afford” it, but I did not want to put it on here and get comments about it so I did not get it. So again THANK YOU!!! And believe me if I were to eat it I would put it on here because Scott would not let me slide on that.

For lunch a friend and I went to Ruby Tuesday’s. I did some research again and we got a cheese quesadilla and split it so that way we were only eating half the points and we each got the salad bar. I did put some extras on my salad but over all it was not that bad.

This morning I had to watch my nephew and while there, I saw that he had the Wii Dance game. So we played it for 30 minutes. That is a good workout after the third dance I was sweating. Granted my nephew said that I looked silly because I was not getting every single move down, but I sure was moving my butt with that thing. Some dances were fast and you jumped around A LOT, and others were slower so it was a good mix for me!

Tomorrow I am hoping to get up early and go to the mall before they open and walk. The only thing that would stop me is having yet another bad night with my tooth that needs that darn root canal.

OK, now what I ate for the day;

BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers blueberry muffin-3 points

WORKOUT:
Nintendo Wii Just Dance for 30 minutes—Gain 2 points!!

LUNCH AT RUBY TUESDAYS:
2 slices of cheese quesadilla-5 points

FOR THE SALAD FROM THE SALAD BAR:
1 Tbs. Sunflower seeds-1 point
about 7 croutons-2 points
¼ cup black olives-1 point
1 Tbs. cheese-3 points
2 Tbs. Fat Free Ranch Dressing-2 points
2 glasses of diet pop-0 points

SNACK:
1 small container of Mandarin Oranges in light syrup-1 point
1 Cheerios Milk N’ Cereal bar-3 points
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds-3.5 points

DESSERT:
1 Weight Watchers Peanut butter Sundae-3 points

SNACK:
1 Grapefruit-2 points

Total points: 29.5 out of 31 points for the day BUT for working out I GAINED 2 points so the new total is 27.5 out of 31 points

I have not been that good with my water, so far I drank 4 glasses. I hope to get 2 more in before bed. I will let you all know tomorrow how I did with that.

Day 9

TIP OF THE DAY: From your fingertip to the first joint is 1 teaspoon.

Yesterday Scott told me that I am not really putting my thoughts on here and no one wants to just read what I have been shoving in my mouth. So I decided that I am going to start off every blog with my thoughts.

So we went to Outback tonight for dinner to celebrate Valentines Day. Before we went I did a lot of research for points. Let me tell you that having to look all over the internet trying to find point values for EVERYTHING at Outback was a pain in the butt! But I know that if I want to succeed on this diet I had to find those points.

Most of the information for the points I found on healthdiscovery.net, Dottie’s and calorie king. By the time I finished looking on here I had a good idea of what to stay FAR away from. When I used to go there I LOVED getting the Blooming Onion. But that is 56 points!!! Reading that I nearly threw up in my mouth! ☺

Now what is up with the bread at Outback? Why does it have to be so damn good!! They place that worm bread in front of me and the temptation was there and I gave in. But I only had 2 pieces and Scott had the rest. When the waiter came back and asked if we wanted more, I gave that decision to Scott, and being the good husband that he is he said no. I was hoping that he would say no because how could I not have more bread when its right in front of me.

Something new happened to me yesterday, I was craving water! That has NEVER happened to me before. Today when I went to the store and I got my water bottle, my craving was subsided! Ahh. I have never had a craving for something sugarless before. It was quite refreshing and it made me feel like I was doing something right.

While at the store I was looking for some popcorn to go with the movies we rented and I was SO excited to find a small bad of buttered popcorn for only 1 point for the whole bag!!! It is perfect for me because if I were to have a bigger bag I am sure I would eat the whole thing.

So here we go on what I at;

BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers Breakfast Quesadilla-4 points

DINNER AT OUTBACK:
1 salad with french dressing-6 points
2 Coconut shrimp with marmalade dip-7 points
about 1 1/2 cup wild rice-5 points
4 shrimp on a Barbi-2 points

2 diet pops-0 point

DESSERT:
1 bag popcorn-1 point

TOTAL POINTS: 30 out of 31.

I drank just about 7 glasses of water today!! WOO HOO!!

I am so happy that even after going out to dinner I still had points left over to eat my popcorn, and have 1 point left over! :)

Day 8

The first full week of the diet as come to an end. A lot of measuring of foods but at the end I lost 3.4 pounds!!!

What I ate;

BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers Breakfast Quesadilla-4 points
1 Weight Watchers Blue Berry Muffin-3 Points
1 glass skim milk-1 point

LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Veggie Pizza-5 points
1 diet pop-0 points

DINNER:
1 salad with 2 Tbs dressing and 1/4 cup feta-5 points
1 Weight Watchers Lasagna-6 points
1 cup of cauliflower poppers that I mad out of the weight watchers cookbook-0 points

(this recipe was different, at first I was not sure if I liked them but shortly after I go addicted to them. I only had a cup of them but good thing they are 0 points!)

Diet pop-0 points

DESSERT:
1 Weight Watchers cookies and cream ice cream-2 points

Total points: 26 out of 31

Today I was bad with my water for some reason. I only drank 2 glasses. I think that it may be because I did not have any more water bottles. I know it sounds stupid but if I drink water out of a bottle it is just easier for me to get my 6 glasses in, especially when I only have to drink 2 bottles to get to 6 glasses...This may sound odd I know but hey, it works for me!

As some of you may seen on the right I added a page of low fat recipes that I will post things on there as well as I hope you will too. Today I posted my first recipe that we tried which was the Weight watchers oatmeal cookie bite. So please take a look at it and let me know what you think if you make them. Day 7-- 2/12

TIP OF THE DAY: One ounce of meat or cheese is the size of your thumb (tip to base)

Sorry I'm late with this post but here it is, Day 7 2/12;

OK my first weigh in is tomorrow!! Aaahhh. I think I did good for my fist week but the number on the scale will tell me the truth. Today I brought Dexter to the dog park and I had wanted to walk laps as he played, but my gym shoes (which I did not know) are not very good shoes to walk in the snow with. But I did 1 lap. By the time I was done with that lap my toes were wet and cold! And also today when I went to the doctors office I parked farther away then I would have and walked. Believe me that opened spot by the front door was oh so tempting!!

Also today I thought I would be a good wife and on my way home I stopped by McDonald's and got Scott a large Shamrock Shake and Dexter a plane sundae :) as I was waiting in line I was thinking to myself how just one cheese burger is only 7 points and I did have those points to spare. The aroma of the fries as I waited in line just seemed to call my name as well. but I said (yes out loud in the car) "Don't waist those points on this! FOOD DOES NOT FEEL AS GOOD AS SKINNY!!!!

OK, so that pep talk went well until I got up to the speaker and told her my order and as she asks, "Is that all?" I freeze and say, "ummmmmm.... (this is it, the time that i can say no I also want that cheese Burger and fries)...but instead I say, "ya that's all!" It was hard but I'm sure that at the end it will feel SO good that that was not part of my points!!

So here is what I did today;

BREAKFAST:
1 English muffin-2 points
4 sprays of butter-0points (yes I did get the spray butter. It has 0 calories! and still tastes good to me!)
1 Tbs. low fat strawberry cream cheese-0.5 points

SNACK:
48 pretzel sticks-2 points

LUNCH:
1/4 cup tuna packed in water-1 point (I am so glade that i looked at the serving size on that small can before I made it because I thought it was one point for the whole can...tricky.)
1/2 Tbs Mayo-1.5 points
1 Tbs. relish-0 points
16 wheat thins reduced fat-2 points

DINNER:
1 salad with 3 Tbs. dressing-3 points
1 chicken breast-3 points
2/3 cup mixed veggies-1 point
a little shy of 1 cup wild rice-6 points
1 glass of diet pop-0 points

DESSERT:
1 (homemade) weight watchers oatmeal cookie bites-1 point
1 weight watchers Strawberry Shortcake-4 points

I did today drink my 6 glasses of water (the 8oz glasses :)

TOTAL POINTS: 27 out of 31 points for the day.

I tried to go the whole day without drinking that pop but a few hours before dinner I started to get light headed and I am not sure if it was the lack of that pop or that I only had so little points through out the day. Any suggestions? Now remember before I started Weight Watchers I was drinking about 7 glasses of regular pop a day. Now not your normal 8oz glasses ether, I'm talking the big glasses of pop! looking back on that now (yes I know it has only been a week) but YUCK!!!

Day 6

I was looking at what I posted yesterday and I just realized that I did not put a tip of the day up. So I wanted to start with...

YESTERDAY'S TIP OF THE DAY: Don't have a scale handy to measure your foods. Here is a quick tip, a 3oz portion of cooked meat, poultry,or fish is about the size of a deck of cards or the size of your palm (minus fingers).

TODAY'S TIP OF THE DAY: 1 cup is about the size of a tennis ball, or the size of your fist.

Here is what I ate today:

BREAKFAST:
2 hard boiled eggs with hot sauce-4 points
1 Weight Watchers chocolate muffin-3 points

LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Ravioli Florentine-5 points
1 glass diet pop-o points

SNACK:
1 (homemade)Weight Watchers Oatmeal cookie bites-1 point

DINNER:
6oz of Chili-5 points
1 pita-2 points
1/4 cup black refried beans-1 point
1 Tbs. sour cream-1 point
1/8 cups cheese-1.5 points

Day 5

Today went well. I know I said that I was going to get up early and have breakfast but I was not able to sleep well last night. I was tossing and turning until 2am and then I woke up again at 5:30 for about 10 minutes and then again at about 6:30 to
8am. Then I woke up for the day at about 11am.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Chicken Oriental-4 points
1 Salad with 2 Tbs. dressing-2 points
1 cup diet pop-0 points

DINNER:
1 Chicken Breast
1 cup rice
1/2 cup cooked spinach
1 salad with 3 Tbs. dressing.
Total points for this dinner is 18 points
(Thanks to Lauren and her mom for a GREAT dinner and planned out points!)

DESSERT:
1 Weight Watchers Peanut Butter Sunday-3 points

SNACK:
1 cup whole wheat cheerios with 1 cup milk-2 points

I also drank 7 cups of water today!!!!

before bed yesterday I was able to get in one more glass of water to make yesterdays total to 6 glasses of water!!

Day 4

TIP OF THE DAY: Limit your time in the grocery store. The longer you stay, the more you will buy.

Today went well. I also wanted to mention that I know that this blog is helping me because today we had breakfast for dinner and with that we had bacon. I did have 4 pieces but there were 2 pieces left over and I was contemplating on eating them because I had the points left and I was still hungry. But as I stopped and thought about having to put it on the blog as 6 pieces of bacon, I decided to go make a salad instead. So I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you for following this. It is really helping me!

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Broccoli and Cheddar roasted potatoes-5 points
1 salad with 2 Tbs. dressing-2 points
1 cup of diet pop

SNACK:
2 pitas-4 points (the store was all out of whole grain ones so we got the regular ones)
1/2 cup black refried beans-1 point
1/8 cup cheese-1.5 points
1 Tbs. Sour Cream-1 point

DINNER:
4 slices of bacon-4 points
3 weight watchers pancakes-1.5 points
1 Salad with 2 Tbs. dressing and 1/4 cup feta-5 points

Total points for the day: 28 out of 31 points.

I did not do so well with my water I only drank 5 glasses.

Tomorrow my plan is to wake up early and start my day off with an actual breakfast not a breakfast/lunch :)

Day 3

TIP OF THE DAY: Chewing seems to relieve tension, so pop a piece of gum. Or get out of the house (or the office). Taking a walk or running an errand can clear your mind and help dissipate some of that agitated energy!

Today went good but I am having a hard time eating all of my points! By the end of the day I am just so full. I am trying to figure out a way to get them in, any suggestions?

BREAKFAST/LUNCH:
1 Weight Watchers Tuna Noodle Gartin-5 points
1 salad with 2 Tbs dressing-2 points
5 croutons-1 point
1 cup diet pop

SNACK:
1 hard boiled egg with hot sauce-2 points
1 fiber one strawberry yogurt-0 points


DINNER:
3/4 Cup pasta-4 points
1/2 cup pasta sauce-1 point
1 salad with 2 Tbs. dressing-2 points
1 cup diet pop

DESSERT:
1 Smart One; Chocolate Chip cookie dough Sunday-3 points

At this point I have only had 20 points out of my 31 (for those who are bad at math I still have 11 points left over) at 8pm.

Now this is where I start to shove anything into my mouth to get to my points:

1 1/2 cups Honey comb cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk-3 points
1 cup whole grain cheerios with 1/2 cup skim milk-3 points
1 Tbs honey-1 point

By this time I am so extremely stuffed I feel like I am going to explode! I know that this is NOT good for you so can someone PLEASE help me figure something out?!


Total Points for the day: 27 out of 31.

I also drank 6 glasses of water again today!! The only down side to drinking this much water is that I had to get up 3 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I also went to Walmart to get some more food and I had to go there too. And as some of you may know I really don't like going to the bathroom at Walmart. But I know that peeing is a good thing when you are on a diet, so that means I must be doing something right :)

Correction

On yesterday's blog I saw that I posted the points for the 3 hard boiled eggs as 3 points. It is really 6 points. Sorry.

Today I went to another Weight Watchers meeting and asked about working out this week. She said that I should wait till next week and concentrate on the points this week. but we will see.

From "working out" yesterday my legs today are KILLING me!! and my arms are sore from the 2 pound weights that I was using during the work out. :) So today I need a rest, after I do laundry and clean the house....I think cleaning the house should be a work out!! :)

Day 2

TIP OF THE DAY: Try to eat within 30 minutes after you wake up to get your metabolism up and and running. After that eating every 4 hours will help keep it going throughout the day.

OK so today went better! I just need to remember to eat every 4 hours ;)

BREAKFAST:
3 hard boiled eggs with hot sauce- 3 points

DINNER/LUNCH (I woke up today at about noon)
Subway's Chicken Teriyaki sub foot long- 14 points
1 diet Pepsi- 0 points

DESSERT:
1 small Coffee with cream and sugar from Dunkin Dounuts- estimated at about 4 points (if someone knows the "real" point value please let me know.

I also drank 6 glasses of water today!!

I also bought Jillian Michaels (from biggest loser) 30 day shred DVD and I did it for only 10 minutes. you are supposed to do it for the full 20 minuets I know but I couldn't. When talking to someone about it they said that for the first 2 weeks on weights watchers NOT to work out and focus on the points. I am not sure about that so when I go to a meeting tomorrow I will ask them what they think about it.

Total used points for the day: 27 out of 31.

I know that you are supposed to eat all of your points but it is currently 11:15p and I know it is not good to eat this late. and I figure I do not know the real total for the coffee so those extra 4 points will cover it :)

menu for 2-6-10

Sorry that I did not post this last night. my brother took us out to dinner for my birthday and then we went to our friends house and did not get back home till 2a so here is what I ate yesterday with point values.

At Applebee's:
OK so I tried to get the Weight Watchers Menu items but they all had black pepper in it. As some of you know I am VERY allergic to black pepper. But luckily we had a GREAT waiter at the Montgomery Applebee's who brought the chef out to our table and he mad his own healthy creation for me that was excellent!

Appetizer:
Chips and Salsa-3 points

dinner-7 points.
1 6oz chicken breast
2 small red potatoes
steamed veggies
with a garlic and lemon sauce....yum!
2 diet Pepsi

Then at our friends house I had:
Half a pita-2 points

hummus-3 points

butterfinger-6 points (Scott bought it for me when they ran to the store..he was thinking of me but needs to start thinking a little healthier but that day was day one and I had the points to eat it.

I also drank 4 glasses of water through out the day.

Day 1

TIP OF THE DAY: water and tea equals a flatter tummy!!

Well this morning I got up and went to weight watchers for the first meeting. After they told me my weight I almost puked!!! This is the biggest that I have EVER been!!! but from this day on I will be getting smaller. I am allowed 31 points a day. The way that weight watchers works is that you have your daily points and then you also have your weekly points. If you go over your points for the day you can use your weekly points which are 35 extra points. My goal is NOT to have to use those weekly points. I have gone through the house and put point values on EVERYTHING! so that way it is already done and all I have to do is write it down. I got the monthly pass which means that I can go to as many meeting as I want in a month but must get weighted once a week. I am planing on also going to Mondays meeting with a friend. I figure it couldn't hurt. Later in the day I will put up what I ate.

I am going to measure myself today and every month put up the changes. I am also going to take a picture of myself in the SAME outfit every month and post those as well :)

Question for everyone

I am looking at workout DVD's since we don't have a treadmill and it's to cold outside. I am looking at getting "The Biggest Loser the Workout." Does anyone have it and what are your thoughts on it. Also if you have a DVD that you love, PLEASE tell me about it!! Thanks
today is the day before I start Weight Watchers. Tonight we are going out to dinner with some friends. This will be the last time in a LONG time that we go out to dinner unless they have a weight watchers menu. ie: Applebee's and Chili's. Otherwise we are eating in!! So I did go ever my Weight watchers cook book and I am going to make my grocery list tonight and go shopping after the meeting tomorrow :)

Intro

Hello Everyone!!

I have tried many things to loose weight and it goes well for a little bit and then I get discouraged. So I decided to start a blog on my weight loss. On here I will put what I have eaten for the day, what I did for exercise and my thoughts for the day. Once a week I will go to Weight Watchers and get weighed and attend their meetings. I will post on here how much weight I lost or gained for the week. Now this is where you come in. I want you to post your TRUE feelings on my comments or if you see that I need an encouraging word, PLEASE post that as well! Maybe if I have to tell EVERYONE what I ate or did that day, it will keep me more on track.
