TIP OF THE DAY: From your fingertip to the first joint is 1 teaspoon.
Yesterday Scott told me that I am not really putting my thoughts on here and no one wants to just read what I have been shoving in my mouth. So I decided that I am going to start off every blog with my thoughts.
So we went to Outback tonight for dinner to celebrate Valentines Day. Before we went I did a lot of research for points. Let me tell you that having to look all over the internet trying to find point values for EVERYTHING at Outback was a pain in the butt! But I know that if I want to succeed on this diet I had to find those points.
Most of the information for the points I found on healthdiscovery.net, Dottie’s and calorie king. By the time I finished looking on here I had a good idea of what to stay FAR away from. When I used to go there I LOVED getting the Blooming Onion. But that is 56 points!!! Reading that I nearly threw up in my mouth! ☺
Now what is up with the bread at Outback? Why does it have to be so damn good!! They place that worm bread in front of me and the temptation was there and I gave in. But I only had 2 pieces and Scott had the rest. When the waiter came back and asked if we wanted more, I gave that decision to Scott, and being the good husband that he is he said no. I was hoping that he would say no because how could I not have more bread when its right in front of me.
Something new happened to me yesterday, I was craving water! That has NEVER happened to me before. Today when I went to the store and I got my water bottle, my craving was subsided! Ahh. I have never had a craving for something sugarless before. It was quite refreshing and it made me feel like I was doing something right.
While at the store I was looking for some popcorn to go with the movies we rented and I was SO excited to find a small bad of buttered popcorn for only 1 point for the whole bag!!! It is perfect for me because if I were to have a bigger bag I am sure I would eat the whole thing.
So here we go on what I at;
BREAKFAST:
1 Weight Watchers Breakfast Quesadilla-4 points
DINNER AT OUTBACK:
1 salad with french dressing-6 points
2 Coconut shrimp with marmalade dip-7 points
about 1 1/2 cup wild rice-5 points
4 shrimp on a Barbi-2 points
2 slices of bread with butter-5 points
2 diet pops-0 point
DESSERT:
1 bag popcorn-1 point
TOTAL POINTS: 30 out of 31.
I drank just about 7 glasses of water today!! WOO HOO!!
I am so happy that even after going out to dinner I still had points left over to eat my popcorn, and have 1 point left over! :)

hey when looking for nutritional info I always start by googling it. Like for outback I put in outback nutritional info. Usually the actual restaurant will have it posted. For outback I clicked menu then interactive nutritional menu. It gives you calories for their dishes. I know you can find most that way. I always try there first b/c I know that those are reliable b/c they come from the actual restaurant. If I can't find it there I'll go to calorie king and what not. Any way, good job tonight though! and trust me...I know the bread is tempting.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, that bread at Outback is a killer. Next time, just tell the waitress "please don't bring it." Then, it's a non-issue! You are doing good on the pop, already down to 2 per day. Next week, shoot for one per day and by the week after, you be at none. Remember that by the time you are craving water, that it is because you are already dehydrated. So always have that bottle close by and just refill them instead of throwing them out. Better yet, buy a nice plastic refillable bottle instead to use throughout the day. One tip I wanted to give you: my new favorite breakfast is a Thomas's Whole Wheat Bagel with 2 tbs. peanut butter. It is SO filling and about 400 calories. Don't know about what it translate to in the whole points thing, but it has become a staple in my diet - sometimes that's what I eat for dinner! Another thought: think about limiting the sugary and starchy Weight Watchers desserts and try just a small square of some really good dark chocolate, like Ghiradelli or Lindt (NOT milk chocolate), 70% or higher. Much better for you, has little sugar and no white flour (which is a killer for diets) and completely satisfies the sweet cravings. Pure dark chocolate has proven health benefits. Try it for a few days and see what you think. Great job on the weight loss! Keep up the good work and you've got to find a way to get that exercise in! I am home on Mondays and Tuesdays - you are welcome to come over here and workout with me. I usually do my workouts around 1pm, let me know!
ReplyDeleteLove-Cath.....
Cathy I would love to work out with you but driving an hour to work out will get VERY pricey. But I would not mind coming by once to see what you do and get some tips. I'll have to check and see what Monday or Tuesday is best for me and you. I'll -email you later.
